Our preschool
100 new public preschools
As part of the plan to rebuild public education, the NSW Government is investing $769 million to deliver 100 new public preschools, co-located with public primary schools in NSW, to boost access to public preschool across the state. This is the largest investment in public preschools in NSW history, helping more children access a high-quality preschool program before starting school.
Lake Illawarra South Public Preschool
Work is underway to deliver a new public preschool at Lake Illawarra South Public School. The new public preschool will provide quality, play-based, intentional educational learning programs guided by the Early Years Learning Framework in a safe and engaging environment for preschool children. It will feature specially designed rooms and a quality outdoor play area. The construction of the preschool is expected to be completed in time for Day 1 Term 1 2027 to accommodate up to 40 children per day and will include:
- 2 preschool rooms
- an outside play area
- administration area, amenities, staff kitchen and storage.
Why choose a public preschool?
Choosing a public preschool, like our soon-to-open program at Lake Illawarra South Public School, means giving your child a strong and supported start in early education, without the fees.
Our preschool will offer a safe, caring and inclusive environment where children can explore, ask questions and learn through fun, hands-on play. Our friendly and experienced team will help each child build confidence, curiosity and a love of learning from the very beginning.
We’re excited to welcome local families to our new preschool soon. To learn more, speak with our team, book a tour or join our waitlist for when we open.
